The Physical Culture Teaching and Research Department of Fujian Medical University is in charge of physical education, scientific research, group activities and competitions in our University. The department has a staff of 24, which includes 1 professor, 9 associate professors, 9 instructors, 2 teaching assistants, 1 in Party and Administration Office, and 2 as supporting staff. The department is responsible for physical education, which is designed for freshmen and sophomores in the School of Basic Medical Science, the Public Health School, the School of Stomatology, the Nursing School, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Medical Technology and Engineering, and the College of Humanities.

The Physical Culture Teaching and Research Department is assigned the task of physical examination according to the State College Student Physical Health Standards. The department has been evaluated many times as advanced unit for implementing the State College Student Physical Health Standards over the years. It organizes or aids in holding all kinds of sport competitions and group activities with coordination with college union, youth league committee and student union. The teachers of the department do physical science researches while accomplishing their teaching tasks and create a new atmosphere of physical education reform in our university.
Inspired by the spirits of solidarity, mutual assistance and fraternity, teachers in the Physical Culture Teaching and Research Department have accomplished various PE tasks and works with great endeavor.
